Mike
Christian Bodybuilder
Born on
December 5th 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio, Mike became the
leader of a local gang and started to train with weights
in order to size up his body. Mike found his early
inspiration in the pages of the various muscle magazines.
Mike overcame his aversion to posing in front of an
audience and entered, and won, his first contest, the
1976 Mr. Portland. He named himself "Iron Warrior". He
thought that it was a fitting tribute to both his earlier
street-smart gang persona as well as his new reputation
for strong onstage competitiveness.
In 1979
Christian placed third at the AAU Mr. Pacific Northwest
contest and third in the AAU Junior Mr. America. In 1982,
he switched to NPC contests and placed fifth in the
heavyweight division at the NPC Nationals.
In 1984
a heavyweight win at the World Amateur Championships.
Seven months later, he entered his first pro event, The
Night of Champions, landing fourth place. Christian
competed in five Olympias (1985, fifth; 1986, third;
1987, fourth; 1989, sixth; and 1990, fourth). In 2005
Mike was inducted into the IFBB Hall of Fame. Mike often
