When the suggested movement

Hypnosis skills
Method of the contrast of the
colors using self hypnosis.
This method described for B.
Stokvis, turns out to be useful with the subjects that
prove to be reticent to other skills, this is a skill of
induction very easy to realize and I like very
much.
It is necessary to have a
rectangle of gray pasteboard, of 14x24 cm, in which there
will be hooked, in longitudinal sense, two strips of role
of 8x4cm, parallel and distant between themselves 5 mm.
The strip of the right will be of pale blue, that of the
pale yellow left. Both will have to become polished
superficially, and the author recommends the right low
angle of the pasteboard to become wealthy in the point
where the subject will put the fingers.
The hypnotist asks to the
subject if his sight is normal: in affirmative case, this
one will begin in a couch bearing the pasteboard with the
rigid arm and concentrating on the gray strip that is
between the color rectangles, without separating her
sight. How it is natural, he will say that it sees
<<a piece of gray pasteboard, in which two strips
are hooked, yellow to the left and blue to the right,
separated by a gray stripe>>. Now it is warned him
that it should keep on being fixed in the above mentioned
point and that soon it will distinguish other colors.
This chromatic phenomenon observed physiologically by any
normal person, as the daltónicos and all
<<tricromáticos anomalous>> it
consists of seeing the respective complementary colors
along the external margins of the yellow one and the
blue.
The hypnotist will proceed this
way:
"When you begin noticing change
of colors it will mean that we are approaching the
hypnosis: this is the first symptom of the hypnotic
influence and they depend on the fatigue of the eyes. Now
you be attentive. In the same way that you have managed
to observe these chromatic phenomena, also you will warn
other signs that demonstrate that the hypnotic state
approaches. Concentrate on the gray streak: soon you will
see like the internal margin of the blue line, which
borders on the gray, it becomes more intense, while the
rest of the stripe will take an opaque and vague tone. Of
the same form, the yellow bordering one on the gray line
it will be intensified, while the rest will become paler
and opaque. He keeps on noticing every time with major
intensity... Do not separate your eyes, fix them this

happens. For example, you will see a yellow rim along
with the blue rim, and one blue along with the yellow
one. These two new colors will touch in the center of the

They will be able to disappear during some seconds,
perhaps because your conscience begins hesitating, then
it means that the hypnotic state is imminent."
It can happen that the subject
is slightly skeptical to this induction way.
Nevertheless, it will have noticed that quite what the
hypnotist has said to him it has been realized
punctually, and the result will be an increasing
confidence in the hypnotist. The hypnotist
insists:
"It keeps on looking, observing
the phenomena that little by little appear. While your
eyelids become heavy, heavier and heavier, and you
realize that you are tired, more and more tired, only you
want to close the eyes and sleep... Do not be opposed,
leave that the sleep invades you, to close the eyes and

Sometimes the method can change
in the latter part; that is to say, the hypnotist speaks
about weariness, of heavy eyelids, of eyes that close,

case, the Stokvis skill belongs to the group of
inductions in situation without sleep. As Pavesi affirms,
it seems that this method is effective in negative
subjects, although not sufficient to induce to deep

deep state.

Autohypnosis
An auto hypnosis method, it is a
method that allows a subject to enter the particular

Is the previous intervention to
the hypnotist necessary to come to the autohypnosis
state?
- not. On what I have commented
is what is done generally. There exist many methods of
autohypnosis that are based us in we go introducing

effects.

very good method, in which you yourself, you can go

The proposed exercises must be
realized, preferably, sat in an armchair, better than

previous ones. Once you dominate all the exercises, you
will be able to provoke any sensation.
The first exercise: muscular
relaxation.
Scarcely the subject is seated
comfortably, it will begin relaxing being said to
himself: "I am completely relaxed. My right arm (or
lefthander) weighs enormously."
This is the first part of the
suggestion, which must recur during a minute or two.
Immediately it will have to concentrate on the following
suggestions: (Not to happen to the following one until
you do not notice the effects of the suggestion on which
you are concentrating).
1. My arm is rigid.
2. I breathe deeply.
3. I open well the
eyes.
For one or two weeks some
exercises should be done scrupulously a day. First one
will feel heaviness in the arm; later this sensation will
spread to the whole body.
The second exercise: perception
of the heat.
Suggestions:
1. I am completely
relaxed.
2. My arms (legs) weigh very
much.
3. The right arm (lefthander) is
warm.
The duration of the exercise
depends on the time in which the subject manages to feel
the heat sensation. In a pair of weeks it should be
qualified to produce the above mentioned sensation in all
his extremities.
Third exercise: regulation of
the heart (to abstain from realizing anyone who endures
some illness of the heart!)
The right hand starts by being
placed on the heart to perceive his beats. Then it passes
to the autosuggestions.
1. I am completely
relaxed.
2. My arms and legs are
heavy.
3. My arms and legs are
warm.
4. My heart beats calmly and
forces.
As last phase can go over to the
control of the pulse. It is not recommended to become
very slow!!!
The fourth exercise: control of
the respiration.
It is begun by the
autosuggestions of the previous exercises and then it
passes to this piece of news:
"I breathe slowly and with
facility; I breathe without any effort."
fifth exercise: control of the
abdomen.
After having carried the
previous autosuggestions out, one arranges: "My solar
plexus is warm."
When this exercise has
ended, the subject is in conditions to relax completely,
to breathe thoroughly and with regular pulse and to
experience an agreeable heat sensation in the whole
body.
control of the cerebral
region.
The perfect functioning needs,
at least, two weeks of work, which will base, in addition
to in the previous autosuggestions, on this
one:
"My front is very fresh, it is
very agreeable to feel it."
After this the exercise is
continued departing from the first suggestion up to the
last one. In a pair or three months it should be
qualified to produce all the suggested phenomena. Also,
it will be necessary to prove the exercises one or two
times a sixth months more, until all the sensations
become truly intense.
Is this? I have remained...!
Equal it happened to me. In fact, the autohypnosis
methods without intervention of the hypnotist are
slightly practical, that's why I advise you if you want
to experience an autohypnosis induction, that you always
choose a practical method with assistance of the
hypnotist, who is the only one that can value every case
and advise or prohibit inductions.
Anyway, in the following
chapters we will see autohypnosis methods with and
WITHOUT intervention of a hypnotist. (Do not worry, that
also there are methods of autohypnosis that do not need
the presence of a hypnotist).
Retrogressions
We can define a retrogression as
a skill that consists of doing that a person under
hypnosis remembers facts of his past with many precision.
(Even made that consciously does not
remember).
To give you an idea of up to
where we can come with a retrogression I am going to put
an example: With a retrogression it is possible to
achieve that a person remembers quite the details from
what there went on for example the day that was four
years.
In many countries, the
investigation services realize hypnosis to witnesses of
some crime to obtain tracks, as for example, the
registration of a car. (Fact that unless we have noticed
consciously, we would not remember in the normal state).
(In a high percentage correct information is
obtained).
In fact, is who makes sure that
by means of a retrogression it is possible to make
remember a person some moment from what it went on,
already not when it had three, two, one year, or when it
was in the belly of his mother; but, to make to remember
facts of a past "possible" life.

To realize this test, it is
necessary to have a brilliant object. (That's why of the
visual fascination. Do you remember? (So that our
suggestions enter easier the subconscious of the
subject)) We will Use for this example a crystal
pendulum. (You can use any other brilliant
object).
This test consists of doing that
the subject presses a small object in his handle, and
while it looks at the pendulum, we give him suggestions
of which he presses the handle hard, and which, on having
counted up to three, while it keeps on looking at the
pendulum, it will turn out to be impossible to open the
handle to him.
"I want that you close your
handle hard and that you look at this pendulum. I want
that you press your handle hard, and you will see that as
the time happens, you feel your more and more closed
handle... Now, every second that looking at this pendulum
you will feel passes how your handle closes more and more
hermetically, as if it had turned into lead. You feel how
your handle turns into steel, now your handle is of iron.
It is not possible to open. When it counts up to three,
you will try to open the hand to release the object that
you have in your handle. At once you will realize that
while you keep on looking at this pendulum, you will not
be capable of opening your handle, while you keep on
looking at it, your handle it will not be
opened..."
(To keep on giving suggestions
of the same type. After one or two minutes...)
"Now I am going to count up to
three. One.... Your handle is completely closed... Two...
While you keep on looking at this pendulum, you will see
as it is impossible to open your hand to you... Three...
Without stopping looking at the pendulum, it tries to
open your handle and you will see as it turns out to be
impossible to you."
While it could not open his
handle, reinforce with suggestions of the
type:
"Do you see? The more you try to
open your handle, the more it closes.... While you look
at the pendulum, you feel that you are not capable of
opening your handle... It turns out to be impossible to
open your hand... to you"
Depending on the time that is
late in managing to open the hand, this will be the grade
that it has to accept the suggestions of the hypnotist.
But...
ATTENTION: This method turns out
to be much complicated for someone who has no practice.
If you the easy tests have not given turned out, do not
try with this one, which be surely that it you will not
work. If you have realized, this method is based on the
aptitude of suggestion of the hypnotist, of his form to
speak, his tone, his rapidity at the time of taking
decisions about what type of suggestions it is necessary
to give in every moment, etc. So my advice is that you do
not use it until you have not put into practice all the
previous ones.
Hypnosis skill:
Method of the stairs
This procedure, as I present it,
derives from the Erickson works. Joseph Barber, North
American dentist, uses it with 99 % of success. It is
based in doing that the subject accepts progressively all
the relaxation states for the one that spends his body
along the hypnosis. A curious thing of this method is
that the words do not appear by any place: to sleep, I
dream, etc. what does that this skill is very effective
for the subjects in which other methods have not worked.
Perhaps unconsciously they believe that, on having fallen
asleep, they will never wake up, or that they might be
controlled completely by the hypnotist, etc. While we do
not name the words to which it has "fear", the subject
will believe that everything is fine and will not push
these suggestions back.
(This skill dissuades to persons
to have respiratory problems or of heart!)
The following thing starts by
being said more or less:
- in this moment you are
relaxed, but perhaps you would like enjoying a major
relaxation.
If the subject answers
affirmatively, the hypnotist continues:
- I am going to indicate you
what you must do. It will turn out to be very easy to
you. You must know that nothing is going to change for
you, you will not feel anything in particular; the only
difference will be that, in a moment, you are going to be
more relaxed than now. And do not hesitate to consult me
if you surprise anything or it intrigues you. To start,
it is essential that you settle in this armchair more
comfortably that you could. It finds the ideal position
in which you feel truly at ease. Now I would like that
you were verifying until point you can improve your
relaxation inspiring very deeply only once. It inspires
deeply. Perfect. Undoubtedly you notice a sensation of
very agreeable heat in the neck and the shoulders. To
accentuate this sensation, it is convenient to inspire
deeply another four times, and between each of these deep
inspirations, you are going to blow. We go. You already
notice it, your shoulders are more comfortable and, when
you lower the eyelids, your eyes enjoy a relaxation
sensation. When your eyelids have tendency to go down, he
respects this tendency, do not hesitate to close the
eyes. You must try to perceive these relaxation
sensations in the shoulders and in the eyes, concentrate
on how the air that goes out of your lungs increases the
relaxation sensation, and to notice that this relaxation
spreads little by little over all your body.
Perfect. He keeps on breathing
deeply and regularly, feeling at ease, and tries to
imagine a stairs. I would like that you were imagining a
stairs, it does not matter of what type, a stairs with
twenty steps. Imagine on top of this stairs. It is not
necessary that you imagine the entire, coarse stairs with
which you evoke a part of twenty steps. Is it already?
Perfect. You are mentally on top of the stairs, and from
the step on that you are treading you see some different.
In a moment I am going to begin counting, with clear
voice and fortress, from one to twenty. Perhaps you have
foreseen it, it is a question of descending mentally for
the stairs. Whenever I pronounced a number, you will
lower a step. You must do an effort to see clearly this
descent, noticing simultaneously how your relaxation
increases. The same way as you lower steps you will feel
more and more relaxed. The more come closer at the end of
the stairs, the more relaxed you will be. Are you ready
to tackle this imaginary descent?
If the answer is affirmative,
the hypnotist continues:
- I am going to tell. One, a
step down... Two, you lower the second step... Three,
third step. Perhaps already perceive that your relaxation
is major. It is possible that you feel more relaxed a few
parts of your body than others. It is possible that the
shoulders and the neck are more relaxed. Or perhaps have
the impression of which your legs are more relaxed than
your arms. This does not have any importance. The only
one sews it is important: that you feel good and more and
more relaxed...
Four, you lower the fourth step.
And it is possible that the relaxation begins being
evident in a certain part of your body. It can be that
this deep relaxation invades little by little your eyes,
your cheeks, your mouth, your chin. Perhaps descend up to
your neck. An agreeable, deep relaxation...
Five, you are in the fifth step.
You have already covered a quarter of the way. You have
lowered a quarter of the stairs. Perhaps you begin
realizing already that your relaxation increases. You
feel good, every time better...
Six, you come to the sixth step.
Perhaps notice that dispel progressively the noises that
till now were bothering you or were distracting you. It
can be that you notice that what you can still already
hear does not bother you, but it integrates harmoniously
into the universe of relaxation that you enjoy in this
moment.
Seven, you have lowered the
seventh step. Perfect. Possibly you will notice that this
agreeable sensation that produces the relaxation takes
possession of your shoulders, of your arms... It is not
excluded that you sit a major heaviness in an arm than in
other. It is possible that you still have the impression
of which the left arm weighs more than the right. Or it
can be also that you sit more weighed the right arm that
the lefthander. Never mind. The essential thing is that
you realize increasingly this agreeable sensation of
relaxation that you experience. Perhaps this sensation
gives you the impression of weighing more. Or perhaps on
the contrary: you feel lighter. It does not have any
importance.
Eight, you are in the eighth
step. Perhaps notice that, in spite of the sensation of
relaxation that invades you little by little, your heart
beats more quickly, with more force... It can be that you
notice also a burning sensation in the fingers... or that
your eyelids blink...
Nine, you lower the ninth step.
Your respiration is slow and deep. You relax. You notice
that your body is more and more relaxed under the effect
of this sensation that you enjoy...
Ten, you lower the tenth step
and you are to half of way of the end of the stairs. It
is possible that in your mind some doubt arises; it is
possible that you wonder where it takes all this. But, at
the same time, you realize this fact: only there matters
your relaxation, an extremely agreeable relaxation that
takes possession of all your body...
Eleven, already you are in the
eleventh step. Probably you will notice the considerable
increase of your sensation of heaviness, an agreeable
heaviness that relaxes you increasingly, that protects
you from any disorder, of any worry...
Twelve, you lower the twelfth
step. Perhaps it seems to you that my voice turns out to
be more audible. You hear me much better, receive more
easily each of my words. And, simultaneously, you feel
more and more relaxed, more and more protected from any
worry...
Thirteen, you are in the
thirteenth one and enjoy major intensity of the
relaxation that has taken possession of your
body...
Fourteen, you lower the
fourteenth step. It can be that you sit an agreeable
subsidence sensation, as if your body was sinking
increasingly in the armchair. Neither the worries nor the
disorders exist. The armchair supports you, wraps you in
a sure way, an agreeable heat sensation makes to be born
in your body, and you feel perfectly at ease.
Fifteen, you come to the
fifteenth step. You have left behind the fourth three
parts of the way. Your relaxation is deep, deeper and
deeper. Nothing importunes you, you do not have to expire
with any obligation, can enjoy completely this
relaxation...
Sixteen, you have lowered the
sixteenth step. Perhaps wonder what impression you will
have when you come at the end of the stairs. But at the
same time you perceive perfectly the agreeable sensation
that causes you this deeper and deeper relaxation, this
state in which nothing bothers you, nothing distracts
you, nothing worries you...
Seventeen, you have come to the
seventeenth step and approach increasingly at the end of
the stairs. Probably your heart beats with more force. It
can be that the agreeable heaviness of the arms and the
legs is accentuated. Any way you realize the fact of
which the only thing that it imports there is the
sensation that is offering to you this experience, this
agreeable relaxation that eliminates everything what
might bother you or worry...
Eighteen, you are in the
eighteenth step, very close to the end of the stairs,
liberated of any worry of any problem, and enjoying an
extraordinary relaxation, which goes to enter. Your body
weighs, weighs and it is relaxed. You feel at ease,
perfectly relaxed. No obligation prevents you from
surrendering completely to the relaxation. you are good,
nothing bothers you and you notice the agreeable
sensation and tonificante that brings you your regular
respiration...
Nineteen, you have lowered the
nineteenth step, you are very close to the goal. You
enjoy an entire lack of concern that allows you to savor
entirely the relaxation. You feel very good. Rested,
perfectly to taste and at the same time absolutely
conscious from what it goes on. Attention!
Twenty, already is, you are at
the end of the stairs. You feel deeply relaxed. And this
sensation keeps on being accentuated. With every
inspiration your relaxation increases.
You keep on breathing
interrupted and regularly, and your relaxation is
accentuated as you do it. But nothing prevents you you
listen attentively to what I am going to say to
you.
(Now it is advisable to apply a
deepening method or enclosed, to apply any hypnotic
method in which it is begun by the closed
eyes).
(To wake up to the subject, say
to him that you are going to count from twenty to one,
which of course will have foreseen it, it has to go
raising the stairs, and on having come in the end, he
will be able to wake up and be very well).
Auto hypnosis:
In this chapter we are going to
see an autohypnosis skill that anyone can do it without
hypnotist's help. Because you are interested in most of
you the autohypnosis applied to the studies, I have
decided to show you the following skill:
Development:
1. With the fingers lightly
separated, support the right hand on the bellybutton and
keep her like that during the whole exercise.
2. It supports the left index
finger in the central area of the forehead, while you
press with the left thumb the left nasal fin and breathe
for the right nostril, putting the belly inspiring and
extracting it on having breathed.
3. Inspire slowly and deeply and
concentrate on the air that penetrates in your body
across your right nostril (the left remains pressed by
your left thumb).
4. When you stop inspiring, it
presses also the right nasal fin with your left middle
finger.
5. A moment remains like that,
with the full lungs.
6. It raises the thumb and
breathe slowly for the left nostril. Another nostril
remains closed.
7. It remains a few moments with
the empty lungs.
8. It inspires for the left
nostril.
9. Finished the inspiration, it
presses your left nostril; 2 repeats the phases to 8
approximately ten times.
It is already a question of the
left nostril or of the right nostril, the respiratory
scheme is the same: to breathe and later to
inspire.
Retrogressions:
In the previous chapter we saw
much superficially the retrogression concept. In this
chapter we are going to enter a little more of
detail.
It is known that all our ideas
are stored in our mind, but that after a lot of time,
they are disappearing. Why? (It is a very complicated
concept, although I will try to explain it in a simple
way. Forgive, but it is not possible to explain of an
easy form).
He imagines our brain as a
"giant" network of neurons (nervous cells that transmit
electrical impulses to other neurons when they receive a
stimulation of some level, that is to say, when the sum
of all the electrical impulses that it receives comes to
a limit).
He imagines that a neuron has
muuuuuuchas next connections, and muuuuuchas projecting.
And that every neuron has this extreme level of different
stimulation.
Now the good thing comes... To
gain access to an idea or concept in our mind, imagine
that a few electrical signs are activated in some area of
our brain. These electrical signs come to neurons. Then,
if one manages to stimulate this neuron, this one, it
will transmit the electrical impulse to the neurons that
it has connected.
Imagine all this framework as a
very big circuit. In that for a certain entry, we obtain
a certain exit stimulation.
Now well... How does he keep in
our slightly new brain that we have learned? Since
changing the levels of excitement of certain neurons.
(Preventing the structure that we have from changing the
most minimal thing) that is to say, to change the levels
of excitement of certain neurons so that before the new
entry, we obtain a new exit. (The learned new concept)
(It is like "changing" all this "network of highways",
some tune in to others). and for all other earnings, to
obtain the exits that we had before learning the new
concept.
It seems that it is going to
turn out to be easier to explain it as if our brain was a
highways network to me. (The similar one is not
completely exact, but I believe that the concept is
comprised more generally).
He imagines our brain as a
network of highways. If we want to come to some concept,
we enter the highway associated with this concept and if
we continue it until the end, we will come to the idea of
this concept. When we learn a little, our brain has to
change this framework to do that departing from the
highway associated with this new concept, in the end we
come at the end of this highway, in which the idea of
this concept is.
Hence, we can deduce the forget
things: For example, it is impossible to modify the
weight structure (to modify all the highways routes)
often, without no memory turning out to be affected
(without no route changing). (To every change, it is
getting lost little by little, and it becomes more and
more difficult to gain access to him). (namely we enter
the highway that we had partner to a concept, and do not
come to the idea with which it was associated. Quite due
to the modifications that happen to learn new
things).
Then... Do you mean that
everything what we have learned it stays forever in our
mind? In general, if this structure, it has been modified
almost completely, it would be impossible to recover a
memory. But... Imagine, that to gain access to this
"forgotten" memory existed a return in this structure,
that is to say, that to gain access to this memory there
was one restructure storm. We gain access to this memory
and later we leave it how is life.
Would the hypnosis be capable of
doing this? A thing yes we know: That with the hypnosis
we can make "wake up" memories that consciously we have
forgotten.
Presently, the explanation is
not known of how by means of hypnosis "asleep" memories
can wake up. What we know is that by means of hypnosis
that is possible (although we do not know why) (in fact,
the hypnosis is not known to true science yet why!!!!)

by Dr. Boule, of Leningrad. Standing, opposite to the
