hypnosis is a great technique for stopping a
nail-biting habit because most of the biting and
skin-picking is done subconciously and automatic. Most
people dont realize that they are actually biting
until the fingers are already in the mouth. Damaged
bitten nails and cutis is usually very ugly and gives
a bad impression of the person. Stop
biting your nails
Some children and adults do this, especially when
they are nervous. But it is not a healthy habit.
Here's why: Fingernails have a couple of big jobs to
do. They protect your fingertips and make it easier
for you to collect tiny things, like loose threads.
They are also close when you have an itch that needs
scratching. But when you bite your nails, your nails
are not there to do those things. And biting, you
break the skin and may bring germs into these openings
in the skin. In fact, some people bite their nails and
cuticles down so far, they bleed! When bacteria
invade, they can cause infection. Speaking of germs,
there are germs under your nails, so when you bite,
these germs can enter the mouth. Think of all the
material, so repulsive, that you touch all day. You do
not want those nasty germs that enter the mouth. Ask
your parents, and other family members or friends to
tell you and warn you about biting your nails. You can
also help keep your nails trimmed and looking good -
so good, that you do not want to chew on them! The
causes of nail biting range from nervous stress, to
nail fungus, and the first symptoms of a child nail
biting problem are quite obvious:the red sore cutis.
Eat foods rich in calcium and magnesium to your nails
will repair and grow well.
